Boo Parade

It's that time again.  The annual Boo Parade was held this Saturday.  Greg, Aki and Curren came by to participate in the fun.  This time we also attended the carnival immediately following.  I think everyone had a good time despite the look of terror on Ellen's face as she lost her grip on the slide.  Another nice way to spend yet another great day in San Diego!  See pictures below...

Pumpkin Patch

The family and an old friend made a visit to a Lakeside pumpkin patch to pick a trio of pumpkins for carving.  Before finally got around to selecting pumpkins Ellen spent a good 20-30 minutes in the bounce house and at least 15 minutes in the petting zoo chasing rabbits and ducks around.

Los Dias De La Semana

Ellen has been singing the days of the week now for awhile.  More recently her pronunciation has gotten quite good.  This evening she must have sang it over and over at least 20 times at the dinner table.  I captured the last few renditions before she demanded that I hand the camera to her so she could watch herself.  Enjoy!

Gardening In October

Despite the late start on our garden we still managed to plant some warm weather plants and took of advantage of our moderate climate.  The tomatoes are just coming in now while we have already harvested lots of summer squash and eggplant.

Summer 2009

Its been a busy summer!  Here's a small snippet of photos from this summer, starting with a trip to Clovis in May and ending with photos of our garden harvest.  Mixed in between are images from Father's day, the 4th of July,  a trip to the zoo, SeaWorld and a group shot of Ellen's first camping trip to San Elijo St Beach.

Happy Birthday

Finally, here is Ellen and her fans singing "Happy Birthday".  She had practiced singing for weeks.  It seemed like anytime a flame was struck or a candle was lit Ellen would predictably break out in her rendition of Happy Birthday.  It made for a good times at Christmas dinner as the candles on the table got us all singing Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus.

Ellen's 2nd Birthday

Look who's turned two!! Can you believe it's already been two years since Ellen has come into this world??? We all celebrated over the weekend with a party at the house on Saturday, a day at the Zoo on Sunday, and cupcakes and another round of happy birthday at daycare on Monday!!

Ellen Practices Her Counting

While cruising around the town a few weeks ago I captured this clip of Ellen counting. Apparently she is working on her counting up to 20!!! Addition and subtraction is still not a concept she has grasped yet.

Baseball Comes To An End

As you may unfortunately know this season was a utter disappointment for the San Diego Padres. The family did manage to get to few games and of course we enjoyed the traditional running of the bases by the little ones. It's always a good excuse for Daddy to get on the field. You'll never see a more pristine playing surface other than that of Petco Park. Anyways, you can see some of the pictures from that day here.  On the bright side, the Dodgers are on the verge of losing the NLCS and the Rays are currently pummeling the Red Sox.  So it makes for a warm fuzzy feeling in the hearts of the small market Padres.

Ellen's Presidential Endorsement

Ellen is excited about her first presidential election!!  She doesn't even realize how significant this event is on so many different levels.  Let's hope we get this one right this time!!  America, don't let Ellen down and yes our digital camera looks like its on the fritz.

Oregon Coast

Cellular reception is pretty much nonexistant which has limited
ability to post updates while on vacation. When we get back I'll have

from next door. Jocelyn has been a big help to Ellen when it comes to
